Cairo, April 13 : Egypt's prosecutor general Abdel-Meguid Mahmoud Wednesday ordered a 15-day detention for former president Hosni Mubarak over an investigation into charges of corruption and abuse of power.
The prosecutor general has placed Mubarak's sons, Alaa and Gamal, also in detention for 15 days over the inquiry into the use of force against protestors during the anti-government demonstration in January.
Mubarak, 82, was hospitalised Tuesday in Sharm el-Sheikh tourist resort after he suffered a heart attack during questioning by prosecutors.
He was forced to end his 30-year rule after the 18-day nationwide demonstration and handed over the power to the military Feb 11.
Mubarak has denied all the accusations against him and his family.
