Bangalore, Mar. 24 : Karnataka Chief Minister B.S Yeddyurappa on Thursday denied reports of any rift in the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Addressing media persons after a state cabinet meeting here,Yeddyurappa said that he was confident of continuing in power.
"We have got full confidence that we are going to win all the three seats and I requested all the ministers those who have some contact in respective constituencies they must also concentrate to win all the three bye elections. We have got 100 percent confidence, we are going to win all the three seats and there is no difference of opinion about anything. These are all rumors so after this election those so who are creating this type of misunderstandings our JDS (Janata Dal-Secular) and Congress friends, people will teach them a lesson," said Yeddyurappa.
The meeting with ministers is being seen as a demonstration of power used by Yeddyurappa to assert his leadership amidst reports of rift.
Yeddyurappa slammed people involved in spreading rumors of breakage in the party and added that the opposition would be defeated in the upcoming assembly polls.
"I am telling that we are going to complete remaining two and half years after completing the five years also we will see that opposition will sit for another 15 to 20 years in opposition party," said Yeddyurappa.
Bye-elections in Karnataka are scheduled to take place on April 9, with nominations of 69 candidates who would be contesting polls from three constituencies.
Whether Congess or BJP, they are politicians & they are all corrupt. When in power, they exploit nation's wealth.
