TOKYO - Japan scaled back its tsunami warning for much of the country on Saturday, nearly 24 hours after a massive earthquake struck and set off a succession of tsunami, NHK television said.
Warnings for a "large tsunami" were revoked for all but a stretch of Pacific coastline closest to the epicentre.
