The year might have seen many new talents, but those listed in here are sure to stay! IG would love to see more of these talents in 2012 and the coming years...
Taapsee Pannu
This Punjabi Kudi worked as a software professional before venturing into modeling. She later made her debut in Telugucinema in 2010 and debuted in Tamil through Vetrimaran's 'Aadukalam' that won 6 National Awards! Taapsee was muchappreciated for her performance as Irene in this film. She later appeared in 'Vandhaan Vendraan' with Jiiva that failed to create an impact at the BO.

Veera Bahu
Good looks, great performance but his debut didn't strike a chord with the audience, thanks to the bone chilling context. Veera Bahu debuted as a protagonist in his mentor, Gautham Menon's 'Nadunissi Naaygal'. He had earlier appeared in an ad and a cameo in 'Vaaranam Aayiram', apart from working as an assistant director. We're watching out for more of you, Veera!
Hansika Motwani
The movie failed to make an impact at the BO and didn't manage to please fans either, but 'Mappillai' introduced to us Hansika Motwani, who rose to overnight stardom. She starred opposite Ilayathalapathy Vijay in her very third film and has a number of promising films in her kitty including 'Oru Kal Oru Kannadi' with director Rajesh and Udhayanidhi Stalin and 'Vettai Mannan' where she plays a gangster girl with Simbu.

Karthika Nair
Daughter of yesteryear heartthrob Radha, Karthika Nair made her entry in Tamil cinema through one of the biggest hits of the year, Ko, directed by KV Anand and featured her alongside Jiiva and Piaa Bajpai. She made a mark as a fierce Tamil journalist in this commercial entertainer that raised her to overnight stardom, however she took quite sometime to decide on her next project. She will be seen in Bharathiraja's 'Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum' shortly.

Krish
After delivering two success ventures in Telugu, Krish debuted in Tamil remaking his second directorial Telugu venture 'Vedam' as 'Vaanam' in Tamil, and, it worked! Krish managed to get a good star cast for his very first film in Tamil including STR, Anushka Shetty, Bharath, Sonia Aggarwal, Prakash Raj, Saranya Ponvannan, Santhanam and a host of others and did justice to their screen presence and delivered a good script with a social message. We're watching out for more of you in Tamil big screen, Krish!
Thiagarajan Kumararaja
This is one talent to watch out for, for thus was the impact created by his directorial debut, 'Aaranya Kandam', which has become the favourite of many critics in recent times. Thiagarajan's neo-noir film managed to please the critics, win accolades and much more and faired decently at the BO. The young talent has earlier directed documentaries and ads apart from penning dialogues for films.

Iniya
Iniya appeared in a small role last year, in Mysskin's thriller, 'Yuddham Sei', where she was seen as Cheran's sister. She appeared this year in Sargunam's period entertainer, 'Vaagai Sooda Vaa' and managed to strike a chord in her very debut. The actress was seen again in 'Mouna Guru' that has opened to positive reviews and has bagged a role in Bharathiraja's 'Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum'. This film will also see Karthika Nair as the other female lead.
Janani Iyer
This model turned actress who has earlier done over 150 ad films and a couple of cameos in feature films, debuted as one of the heroines in Bala's 'Avan Ivan' where she was paired opposite Vishal. Coming from Bala's school of acting (Avan Ivan), this actress struck a chord among audience and she will soon be seen in 'Paagan' with Srikanth. She has already made sure her presence is felt among fans for the social butterfly in her is always active at events.
Praneetha
Lady luck favoured Praneetha, we must say. She debuted in Udhayan which marked the second film of Arulnidhi. As soon as she forayed into Tamil cinema, she was in news for being Kajal Aggarwal's look alike. The actress currently has a biggie in store for her, 'Saguni' opposite Karthi Sivakumar, for which expectations are sky high.

Nithya Menon
'Nootrenbadhu' won acclaim for its cinematography but failed to impress audience due to the predictable plot. Nithya Menon though, managed to strike a chord with her impressive acting skills and made her second appearance through 'Veppam' shortly.

Bindhu Madhavi
This Telugu actress was launched through 'Veppam' and won the hearts of many. She was recently credited as a Silk Smitha look alike at an event for her forthcoming film, 'Kazhugu', in which she will be seen sans make up! The trailer of the film has managed to create a buzz among movie goers.
Shruti Haasan
This multi-faceted personality forayed into Tamil cinema as an actress through AR Murugadoss's biggie, '7aum Arivu'. The movie proved as the right debut for Shruti Haasan since she proved herself as a good actress in her very first film in Tamil and her role had much weightage in the film, as a Tamil patron who wants to bring back to life Bodhidharma and put an end to diseases in the world. Shruti Haasan managed to smitten audience of all classes and age groups through this one film and played well Subha, a scientist. The actress has bagged a meaty role in '3' one of the most awaited films in 2012 where she shares screen space with Dhanush. Beautiful looks, an amazing voice, and a beauty with brains who throws no tantrums whatsoever, Shruti Haasan is definitely here to stay!

Richa Gangopadhyay
We can rightfully say she is one of the best talents 2011 introduced to us and she proved this right with her very debut, 'Mayakkam Enna'. The actress beautifully matured through the course of film, and her immediate second release 'Osthi', came as yet another pleasant surprise for she smitten her fans as Neduvali, the glam village belle.

Anirudh
Anirudh is probably one of the youngest talents we've seen this year. This boy, who is hardly 21 years old, has become the heartthrob of girls (all over the world? Thanks to Kolaveri's success), and rose to overnight stardom with his very first single release, Why this kolaveri di from the film '3'. Great going, boy!

Deeksha Seth
Her co-star, Chiyaan Vikram, calls her the hattrick girl, for all her three releases in Telugu were super blockbuster hits. Deeksha Seth is probably the latest entrant in Kollywood this year and has forayed in a biggie, 'Rajapattai' opposite Vikram. The actress manages to make a mark although her role isn't a big one in the film. This young lass who is merely out of her teens, has been roped in to play Simbu aka STR's love interest in 'Vettai Mannan', a gangster thriller.

Saravanan & Sathya
'Engaeyum Eppothum', with which AR Murugadoss turned producer, was loaded with young stars and introduced to us two promising talents. Saravanan who earlier worked with AR Murugadoss as an assistant debuted as a director through this project and we must say, it was one convincing debut! It's interesting how the director presented an important social message to audience in a non-preachy manner. The film also saw another debutant, Sathya, who forayed into Tamil cinema as a music director through this film, his songs, especially 'Govinda...' and 'Masama...' topped the charts.
Sara
Probably one of the sweetest finds of the year 2011, Sara, debuted as a child artist in Chiyaan Vikram's 'Deiva Thirumagal'. This child can be rightly referred to as the second lead in the film and took film audience by storm with her intense portrayal as a child who loves her mentally challenged father deeply.

Santhakumar
Santhakumar's directorial debut, 'Mounaguru' that stars Arulnidhi and Iniya in the lead roles opened to much critical acclaim with critics citing the film to be a perfect thriller. The director earlier worked an assistant to Dharani who knows commercial cinema like the back of his hand.
